The CNMV Chairman, Carlos San Basilio, has presented to the CNMV staff an ambitious digital transformation plan for the institution, named HELIX. The initiative seeks to reinforce supervision through the deployment of cutting-edge tools and systems, the application of new technologies to data management, and the expanded use of artificial intelligence and machine learning across the organisation’s activities, among other objectives.

The plan also places a strong emphasis on training and talent management for staff working in this field.

The name HELIX refers to DNA helices, symbolising how these digitalisation and modernisation processes will be embedded at the very core of the CNMV. The plan is built around the following strategic pillars:

  • digitalisation
  • data platform
  • artificial intelligence
  • cybersecurity
  • talent management
